also known as Makrana Marble, Taj Mahal Stone, Indian White Marble, Rajasthan White
The stone of the Taj Mahal. Makrana marble has been quarried in Rajasthan since at least the 16th century. The Mughal emperors chose it for the Taj Mahal (completed 1648) precisely for its exceptional whiteness and translucency. Top-grade 'Makrana Pure White' rivals the finest Italian white marbles and is notably free of impurities. A UNESCO-significant material with global recognition that brings aesthetic excellence and heritage depth to luxury projects.
