The stone of Palladio. Pietra di Vicenza is the warm golden limestone quarried in the Colli Berici and Euganei hills of the Veneto, used by Andrea Palladio throughout Vicenza in the Basilica, the Teatro Olimpico and the great villas of the Venetian hinterland. Good to know

Is this the stone Palladio used?

Yes — Andrea Palladio chose it specifically for its workability, warm local colour and fine carving properties. The stone weathers to a deeper honey-gold outdoors over the years.

Is it still actively quarried?

Yes, in limited volumes from the Colli Berici quarries. It is not a commodity stone; curated supply makes it a prestige selection with genuine Venetian provenance.
