Origin & quarry

Bardiglio is the classic Italian grey marble, quarried in the Apuan Alps. It ranges from the pale, even Bardiglio Imperiale to the darker, cloudier Bardiglio Nuvolato — a calm, architectural grey.

Geology. Metamorphic grey marble, calcite-dominant; the blue-grey ground and white veining come from fine carbon and mineral banding.

Good to know

What is the difference between Bardiglio and Bardiglio Imperiale?

Both come from the Carrara quarries, but Bardiglio Imperiale is the darker, more saturated blue-grey variant with finer, more regular veining. Standard Bardiglio ranges from a lighter, more variable grey to mid-tone. Imperiale commands a premium for its uniformity and depth.

Can Bardiglio be used for flooring?

Yes, it is a classic floor marble in European luxury interiors. Honed finish is preferred for floors to reduce slippage and to soften the grey. It should be sealed to resist staining.
