Blanc du Maroc

also known as Morocco White Marble, Blanc Naouri, White Marble Morocco

A white to near-white crystalline marble quarried from several Moroccan Atlas deposits. The most widely traded Moroccan white marble, it offers a clean, bright surface comparable to medium-grade Spanish or Portuguese white marbles at competitive cost. Consistent in colour with minimal grey or beige veining; primarily used in residential flooring, wall cladding and bathrooms. Increasingly exported to European markets as a cost-efficient alternative to Turkish or Spanish whites.

Good to know

Is Blanc du Maroc a true marble or a limestone?

It is a metamorphic marble — recrystallised calcium carbonate — and behaves as a marble (polishable, susceptible to acids, requires sealing). The confusing 'limestone' label sometimes applied in less precise trade documentation refers to its sedimentary origin before metamorphism.
