Dobrești White Marble

also known as Mramura Dobrești, Romanian White Marble, Arges White

A white crystalline marble from quarries near Dobrești in Argeș County, in the foothills of the Southern Carpathians. Romania's Carpathian belt contains significant marble deposits — less internationally publicised than Greek or Italian sources, but of solid quality and with EU production standards. Dobrești White is used in Romanian public buildings, monuments and residential interiors. As Romanian stone export infrastructure develops, it represents an under-appreciated EU source for specifiers seeking white marble with traceable European provenance.

Good to know

Is Romanian marble available for export to the US?

Yes — Romania is an EU member with production standards compliant with European norms. Export to the US is feasible through standard stone trade channels, though volumes and distributor networks are smaller than for Greek or Italian equivalents. Direct quarry relationships are the most reliable route.
