A warm cream-to-golden fossiliferous limestone used in Lisbon's historic buildings for centuries, including Jerónimos Monastery and the National Palace of Mafra. Distinctive shell and coral fossils give it a lively character.

Lioz is rich in fossilized marine shells and corals, visible as small round cross-sections on the cut face. This gives it a warmer, livelier character than uniform cream limestones.
