Rojo Alicante is technically a bioclastic limestone — a fossil-rich red stone from the Cretaceous era quarried near Alicante in Spain. In the trade it is widely sold and specified as a marble due to its polishable surface and classic applications.
It is a statement stone best used as an accent: feature walls, floor medallions, countertop details, and classical inlay work. Its deep red creates strong contrast with whites and beiges. It is not typically used as a full-floor stone in contemporary projects.
