Ruscita Marble

also known as Romanian Carrara, Marmura de Ruscita, Ruscita White

Romania's premier white marble, quarried in the Banat mountains of western Romania. A metamorphic limestone with a bright white ground and subtle grey-blue veining reminiscent of mid-grade Carrara. Used extensively in Romanian state buildings and increasingly exported for European and Middle Eastern luxury projects. A cost-effective alternative to Italian white marbles with consistently good quality.

Good to know

How does Ruscita compare to Carrara?

Ruscita is broadly in the Bianco Carrara tier: a clean white marble with subtle grey veining. It does not reach the translucency of Statuario or the drama of Calacatta, but is a solid, well-quarried white marble at typically more accessible pricing.
