Turkey · Marble
also known as Taurus Black
A black Turkish marble with clean white veining, a high-availability alternative to the classic black-and-white marbles.
Type-level physical facts shown. Per-lot lab values (absorption, flexural strength) confirmed at quotation.
Both are black marbles with white veining. Toros Black from Turkey's Taurus Mountains tends to be more readily available and competitively priced, while Nero Marquina from Spain is the more established design reference. The vein character differs: Toros Black typically shows bolder, less regular movement.
It is primarily used for interior applications — feature walls, vanities, bar fronts. Polished black marble in full exterior exposure can show efflorescence and salt damage over time; honed finish in sheltered exteriors is more stable.
