A white to off-white metamorphic marble from the Vrgorac area in the Dalmatian hinterland, southern Croatia. Less internationally known than Brač limestone or Pietra d'Istria, Vrgorac white is a local prestige material used in public buildings and residential construction throughout Dalmatia. Fine-grained with good polishing qualities; suitable for interior floors, wall cladding and bathroom applications.
