Rose of Sinai

also known as Sinai Rose, Egyptian Rose, Pink Sinai Limestone

A soft pink-to-rose limestone from the Sinai Peninsula, distinguished by its warm rosy hue and gentle cream undertones. Less commonly exported than Galala or Sunny Beige, it occupies a niche in high-end residential interiors — bathrooms, feature walls, bespoke furniture panels — where a delicate pink character is desired without the cost of a premium marble.

Good to know

Is Rose of Sinai a marble or limestone?

It is technically a limestone — a calcareous sedimentary rock — though some distributors market it as marble due to its crystalline structure. It does not have the recrystallised mineral fabric of a true metamorphic marble.

Can it be used in wet areas?

With proper sealing it performs adequately in residential wet areas (showers, vanities) where low-traffic contact is expected. We recommend a penetrating sealer on natural stone in wet zones.
