Sarrancolin

One of the most extraordinary decorative marbles in the world: a complex breccia of warm reds, golds, pinks and grey. Quarried in the French Pyrenees at Sarrancolin, it clad the altars of Versailles and the Château de Fontainebleau. Today it is rare, supplied in small volumes, reserved for the most demanding luxury and heritage restoration projects.

Where is Sarrancolin quarried?

In the Hautes-Pyrénées mountains of southern France, near the village of Sarrancolin. The quarries have been worked since the 17th century to supply the royal palaces of France.

Is Sarrancolin available in large slabs?
